Stop #1 - Historical Winery
It is a two-hour drive from Madrid, including a quick stop to have a typical Spanish breakfast. Through vineyards and winemaking villages we will arrive to one of the most famous wineries of Ribera del Duero, where we’ll visit its vineyards, the cellar and enjoy a marvelous wine tasting in its surprising tasting room.
Stop #2 - Boutique Winery
A second renowned cellar, located in the Golden Mile, will be waiting for us, where we will discover a different way of making excellent wines. You will be fascinated by their vineyards and their breath-taking views.
Stop #3 - Modern Winery - Gourmet Lunch
You will enjoy a delicious gourmet meal at the third winery. You will have the best Castilian products, cooked and paired with the best wines from this incredible region.
Stop #4 - Return to your accommodation
After this delicious meal, we drive you back to your accommodation. For sure, your heart will be touch by this marvelous land for the rest of your life!

We spent a very special day with Pablo, who treated us with warmth, courtesy, expertise, and enthusiasm. Normally, we prefer do to our own driving and explore on our own, but, after reading the other posts on TripAdvisor, we decided to take a chage a DeVinus Wine & Food Tours... and we were very glad we did! Ribera del Duero - Key Information
A land that deserves to be discovered
Just 70 miles north of Madrid we can find one of the most important Spanish winemaking regions, home of the world’s best and most exclusive red wines. Along the banks of the Duero Rivera, lies a plateau full of vineyards and exclusive cellars. This is the ideal place to transform Tinto Fino grapes (the local name for the Tempranillo grape) into exquisitely expressive reds renowned worldwide. The heart of the Ribera del Duero is the “Milla de Oro” or “Golden Mile". A short strip of land hugging the Duero River, home of iconic wineries like Vega Sicilia, Pingus, Abadía Retuerta and Mauro. Wine has been made in the area since the Roman era but it only became widespread with the arrival of monasteries. Although producers like Vega Sicilia have been making world-class wine here for more than a century, the winemaking boom did not come until the late 20th century. These days however, the region has a sealed reputation for outstanding quality and good value. In this rural region we’ll come across several lovely towns and monuments including medieval cathedrals, Roman-era constructions, fortresses and castles. Also throughout the region we'll find the countryside cuisine of central Spain which includes delicious cured ham, flavorful sheep cheeses, roasted lamb and wonderful stews.
